The second LP released on Miles Music was the first with Alan Barnes leading a quartet. With Dave Newton on piano, Paul Morgan bass and Mark Taylor drums this was a young combination that produced some fine and memorable jazz.
As Benny Green Stated in the original sleeve notes: ‘Any faint remaining doubt that the younger generation of British jazz musicians has not already advanced far beyond anything dreamed of by their predecessors must be dispelled once and for all by the contents of this album….’
